An active leader in many non-profit organizations for youth, Kaua`i High School graduate Grace Peralta will be attending Kaua`i Community College, later transferring to Azusa Pacific University to major in the field of public relations. Upon graduation, her ultimate goal is to work as a PR officer for a non-profit organization on Kaua`i, preferably for the Boys and Girls Club.

“All of these components in my life were necessary in creating passion in me to be a leader and make a difference in my community,” says Peralta. I will continue to contribute to my community by being an example to younger generations and by continuing to take advantage of the many opportunities that come my way, like this scholarship for example.”

Jenna Mazda is a Pennsylvania State University and West Chester University graduate with a post-baccalaureate certification in elementary education.

“It is through daily reflection of my own practices that I have come to the conclusion that graduate school is the next step to furthering my knowledge in the educational field and practices. Not only will it allow me to reach my immediate goal of increasing my knowledge on best educational practices, but my long-term goals as well, allowing me to better serve the community of learners,” says Mazda.

“We are very proud and humbled to have the opportunity to present this award to such ambitious scholars,” says Jenny Fujita, partner with FMPR. “We have the upmost confidence that Grace and Jenna will continue to positively impact and improve their community as they proceed on their future endeavors.”

“The involvement and dedication these scholars contribute to the community stands out tremendously,” says FMPR Partner Joy Miura Koerte. “Grace and Jenna possess great passion towards their pursuits, whether by supporting non-profit organizations or educating youth. Their value as growing, inspirational individuals reflects favorably on their generations and in the community.  And, like our past FMPR Scholars, we will be posting updates about Grace and Jenna on our website at www.fmpr.net as we continue to grow our network of FMPR Scholars so that they can collaborate and achieve great things together.”
